Jasmine Hassleback, MD

Public Health & Preventive Medicine

High Rez Photo - Dr. Jasmine Hasselback.jpg

Dr. Jasmine Hasselback is a Public Health and Preventative Medicine specialist in Saskatoon. Her work is focused on preventing disease and injury, and in promoting health and well-being. Her work often includes partnerships with many non-healthcare related programs, services, and organizations because she knows that although her job is to keep people from getting sick, the “sickcare” system holds very few of the levers to make that happen.

Dr. Hasselback completed her studies at the Universities of Ottawa and Saskatchewan, and has worked in various settings, including both rural and remote, and large metropolitan. Although her practice has been extremely varied, of note she has supported the development of safer policies at the local level with the legalization of cannabis, she has engaged in intersectoral partnerships to develop better early childhood development services and supports, and has been fully immersed in containing communicable disease threats including responding to large scale outbreaks (e.g. Ebola, E.Coli 0157:H7 and COVID-19).
